Sure, it's January in Minnesota, and sure, we know it's going to be cold. But just how cold was it Sunday during the Vikings Wild Card Playoff game in Minneapolis?

Well, it was the coldest game in Vikings history, with the temperature hovering near 4 below zero at kickoff. That's pretty cold. And, it did beat the previous coldest kickoff of 2 below zero, set at the old Metropolitan Stadium during a game with Bears back in 1972.

Sunday's Wild Card Playoff contest was also the coldest game in TCF Bank Stadium history. Although, seeing as the stadium's only been in use since 2009, that's not too surprising.

But, as this tweet from the shows, it was sooo before cold before kickoff that the Vikings Gjallarhorn broke before the game. Now, THAT'S cold. (And, seeing how the game ultimately turned out, perhaps it was an omen of things to come?)
