Kacey Musgraves' fiance Ruston Kelly celebrated his birthday on Monday (July 31), and it's possible that the most heartwarming gift he received was the note she penned him on social media.

The country singer turned to Instagram on Tuesday (Aug. 1) to share a poignant note of appreciation for her soon-to-be husband. Along with a photo of Kelly playing banjo while Musgraves sings, the "Follow Your Arrow" hit maker shared a paragraph of kind thoughts about Kelly, saying he should be "celebrated every day."

"This man is the most patient, hilarious, gorgeous, honest soul you could ever meet," she says before telling the story of how she went to the Bluebird Cafe one night alone, which changed her life forever. "Never knew that I would hear his songs and be meeting the love of my life. Never saw him coming but sometimes life has you under its wing and you don't even realize it."

Musgraves and Kelly got engaged on Christmas Eve in 2016. He popped the question in Musgraves' childhood home while visiting for the holidays, she revealed in a previous Instagram post. "I didn't say yes...I said HELL YESSSS!! she proclaimed in the caption next to a photo of her flashing the diamond ring in front of the Christmas tree.

The country star and her crew of gal pals recently visited Dollywood for her bachelorette party, complete with "fanny packs, fireworks, bedazzled bandanas" and plenty of drinking games. The adorable couple are featured together on the new album, Johnny Cash Forever Words: The Music, a compilation of Cash's poems over the years, on a piece called “To June, This Morning” written by the legend in 1970. It's not clear when they'll walk down the aisle.
