Keith Urban has shared his third single from his upcoming album RipCORD. "Wasted Time" is an uptempo reflection on carefree younger days that were aimless but certainly not pointless.

"When I think about those summer nights / Singing out the window on the backroads "Sweet Child of Mine,"" Urban sings in the song's chorus. "... Ain't it funny how the best days of my life / Was all that wasted time."

"Wasted Time" features an electronic beat throughout, along with hints of banjo. The song is poppy, but it retains a touch of country. Urban, Greg Wells and J. Hart wrote "Wasted Time," and Urban and Wells co-produced the track.

“I worked with a lot of new people on RipCORD, and Greg was one I’d wanted to work with for a long time. He’d been writing a lot with J., and so the three of us spent a couple days at Greg’s studio to jam and see if we clicked," Urban recalls in a press release. "Greg had this cool chord progression, and I grabbed my guitar and started singing a melody. J. suggested the title, and before we knew it, we were talking about growing up and all the things you do, no matter where you are in the world, and the song just took off from there.”

"Wasted Time" is at radio now and available for download via iTunes; press play below to hear it. Urban will premiere the song on American Idol on Thursday (March 31).

RipCORD is scheduled for release on May 6. Its previous two singles, “John Cougar, John Deere, John 3:16″ and “Break on Me,” both have both hit No. 1. On June 2, Urban will kick off his RipCORD World Tour 2016, featuring Brett Eldredge and Maren Morris.
