Rochester, MN  (KROC AM News) - Rochester Public Utilities says the recent warm weather has contributed to high water at Lake Zumbro.

The runoff caused by melting snow has increased the lake’s level above its normal summer pool elevation. It’s not known how long the condition will continue, although much of the winter snowpack in the region has already melted.  As of noon Wednesday, the lake level was about half a foot over the top of the RPU power dam.

RPU says the lake’s level will be maintained at its normal summer pool until the fall drawdown.

Real-time lake level information is available on the RPU web site.
