Today is the last day of school for the Rochester kids and most of southern Minnesota. I still remember shutting my locker on the last day of school at Kasson-Mantorville. School was filled with many different memories including my classmates, teachers and the smells. Every school has a certain 'smell' to it. There are different smells in the gym, the locker room and hallways. Everything from cologne, to stinky tennis shoes and zit cream.
And even though the song came out in 1972, I still enjoy cranking up Alice Cooper's "Schools Out" on the last day of school.
If you're a graduating senior, congratulations and good luck! Life is filled with many great experiences and each day is another chapter in the book of life. Live it to the max!-Alan
