Kimberly Schlapman of Little Big Town will release her first cookbook entitled Oh Gussie!
Cooking and Visiting in Kimberly’s Southern Kitchen On April 14th. Kimberly, who also has her own cooking show on Great American Country, calls the cookbook a dream come true. “I’ve been so excited about this that I could hardly stand the wait!”.
“When I’m not on stage with Little Big Town, you can probably find me in my kitchen.
As long as I’ve been singing, I’ve been cooking.” This Cookbook was written with
award-winning author Martha Foose.

In the cookbook, Kimberly shares delicious recipes , family favorites, and personal stories from her days in the Appalachian foothills of north Georgia, her travels on the road with Little Big Town, and from her life at home in Nashville with her family. She says, “I have poured my heart and soul into this book, and I hope these recipes and stories will inspire you and bring you closer to the ones you love as you fill up their bellies—and their hearts.”

On a personal note, I've had the privilege of talking with Kimberly personally about my passion for cooking, and shared with her an heirloom pepper that I grow here in Rochester, namely, the Beaver Dam Pepper, a Hungarian heirloom variety that was brought to America by my Great Uncle Joe (Hussli) in 1912. I presented her with some growing tips, and seeds. I've not heard if she ever attempted to grow some in her own garden. She is pretty busy though, you know? -steve
