Seeing as everyone seems shocked and saddened about the events surrounding last night's Grey's Anatomy, I figured we could all use something to lighten the mood. So, here are some bloopers of the Grey's cast. Who doesn't love bloopers? Roll tape!

(I have some thoughts about Thursday's episode, too-- they're below the blooper reel. But don't read them if you haven't seen the show yet!)

(Spoiler alert!) Now, here are my thoughts on the episode where Dr. Derek Sheppard was written out of the show. First, as my wife pointed out, we were shown that the area where the accident occurred had no cell service -- which was a major point of the episode leading up to the accident, and which also meant that Derek had to save all the accident victims by himself, because he couldn't call 911 -- so just how was it that his phone was suddenly ringing when he got back in the car? (That, of course, led to his car being directly in the path of that oncoming semi, which, as we all know now, didn't end well for Dr. Sheppard.)

Secondly, did Shonda Rhimes really have to kill him off? Couldn't she have just written the story arc to essentially keep him at Washington, D.C.? Did we have to subject Meredith Grey to yet another tragedy? I've read that Patrick Dempsey, the actor who played Derek Sheppard, was becoming "difficult" to work with on the set. That might be a reason why his character was snuffed out. But still, I would have liked it better if he'd just moved away. At least then, the character could have returned in a future cameo-- like Isiah Washington's character, Dr. Preston Burke, did last year. Oh, well. It IS only a TV show...
