A small town girl, Caitlyn Smith, is catching a lot of attention for writing some huge songs. And rightfully so! Caitlyn is the pen behind several hit songs by some of the biggest names in country music, like Garth Brooks and Jason Aldean. Her latest is a number one hit.

Caitlyn, who is originally from Cannon Falls, started flying to Nashville to write when she was only 16. Her resume includes credits on platinum-selling albums by Garth Brooks, Jason Aldean, and Lady Antebellum. She also wrote songs for Danielle Bradberry, Rascal Flatts, and Cassadee Pope.

Her most recent hit is “Like I’m Gonna Lose You” a song that Smith thought would be performed by Kelly Clarkson, but ended up being recorded by Meghan Trainor.

She can sing too! When she released an EP back in 2014 called “Everything to You” she caught the attention of Sheryl Crow and Willie Nelson. Both used her as an opening act.

Perhaps someday, in the not-so-distant future, we'll see her performing on the world's biggest stages!
