#embracethebump is going viral as a local TV station's News Director takes action against an anonymous bully.

Since 10th grade I believed broadcasting was the right field for me, BUT radio was not my first choice. I was so intrigued by journalists. I had all intentions of being that face on your TV! I started college, and finished early with high hopes of being somebody.

I took radio classes knowing they would help me with delivery, speech, articulation, etc and thinking I could make the transition into television. While making this journey I took some very harsh criticism from TV people. People telling me things like not to do my hair "that way", or "don't wear that", and "you have to wear makeup!" It was scary!

Unfortunately, those people behind the scenes ARE NOT the scariest. It's the viewers. People anonymously send messages via Facebook or email, or they make phone calls to shame this person for putting himself or herself out there, trying to be somebody.

Recently a local bully took to the computer with some harsh words for a beautiful, pregnant meteorologist, and the actions taken by the station are noteworthy! Check it out:

I feel like it's silly for me to HAVE to say that being a bully is not cool. We are all STILL people! We all still have feelings! Regardless of what our status is in the public eye, bullying IS bullying. It's hurtful, cruel, and uncalled for!
