Rochester, MN  (KROC AM News)  - An Austin man has been sentenced for his role in what Rochester police say was a drug-related assault and robbery that happened last summer.

20-year-old Kalin Jones pleaded guilty to a felony robbery charge and was sentenced Monday to 10 years probation. He has also been ordered to serve 30 days in jail and perform 150 hours of community work service.

His brother Kameron was also involved in the crime. He was sentenced earlier to probation.

The incident happened at a residence in the 400 block of 9th Ave SE. Police say a 24-year-old man went there to buy some marijuana. He told police he was assaulted by four men and was choked until he blacked out. He says the attackers also stole $3,500 from him.
