If you have some furry friends that you share your house with, today's the day to give them some love-- literally-- because it's National Love Your Pet Day!

I've had pets ever since I was a little kid growing up back in central Wisconsin. At one point, I had four dogs and two cats. That was a lot of fur. Since then, some beloved canine and feline members of the family have left us, but we still have three cats with whom we share our house.

Finn, Huck and Hazel make up our crew right now. And, if you have pets too, you're not alone. According to National Day Calendar.com, National Love Your Pet Day, a day set aside to give extra attention to and pamper your pets, is celebrated by most of us in the United States these days.

In fact, the site goes on to say that, "Did you know that most households in the United States have at least one pet?  While there are more cats than dogs in the United States, more households have dogs than cats, but not by much," the sited noted.

So, cheers to those furry friends who make life a lot more fun! And check the video out below to meet my pets!
