A motorcyclist riding along I-94 in Woodbury is lucky to be alive after he ran over a foam float that came loose from a trailer-- and it was all caught on video.

According to WCCO-TV, it turns out that the cyclist, 20-year-old Brendan Jakowski of Hudson, said he saw the foam flotation device falling-- but couldn't get out of the way fast enough. "I just saw the thing fall and I knew I had to move-- I didn’t make it quite far enough and I already knew I was in trouble,” Jakowksi said in the story.

Thankfully, he was wearing his helmet and protective gear, too-- which, the story said, he had just purchased. “I didn’t quite have the money to splurge for the pants, so I just got the jacket,” Jakowski said in the story. “Lo and behold, I needed it twenty minutes later, which is just funny. It’s just bad luck.”

If you haven't seen it yet, check it out below. I've driven that stretch of I-94 many times, and accidents like this are a big reason why I sold my motorcycle about 10 years ago. I still have the motorcycle endorsement on my driver's license, but this video sends a chill down my spine. Secure those loads, people!
