Last night was another good night for at least one Minnesota contestant on American Idol, as St. Paul's own Shannon Berthiaume won a spot in the top 24!

My wife and I have been sucked back into watching Idol again this season-- mainly because we both like Harry Connick, Jr. and Keith Urban. Well, and because one of the audition sites was right here in Minnesota last summer.

So as they continue to whittle the mass of some 200 singers who made it to Hollywood down to the top few who get to perform on the live shows, it's still cool to know that one of at least one of our fellow Minnesotans is still alive: Shannon Berthiaume, of St. Paul, made it through again, doing a version of the song, "Take A Little Piece of My Heart."  (We'll find out if another Minnesota singer, Minneapolis' Matt Andrew, makes the top 24 during Thursday's episode.)
