Target recently made news when it announced it was doing away with gender-based signs and making some of its departments more unisex-based, and now another Minnesota company is hoping to raise enough funds to start production of its unisex product: skirts.

Yes, you read that right: unisex skirts. For both girls and guys. According to BringMeTheNews.com, "The Next Big Thing in fashion might start right here in Minnesota – a skirt that both men and women can wear? That’s the concept Skirtcraft, a Minneapolis startup, is hoping to bring to the scene via a Kickstarter campaign that’s within striking distance of reaching its fundraising goal.If the effort is successful, the company will be able to order the first “production run” of the unisex skirts, the project page says."

The story goes on to say that the creator, "Joe Quarion, says he got the idea from a game of ultimate frisbee, during which he and all the other members of his co-ed team wore skirts and dresses." Uh, okkaaay. While I'm pretty sure I won't be taking part in a frisbee game while wearing a dress or skit, I will give Skirtcraft credit in that their skirt sure looks comfortable and cool for our steamy Minnesota summer days. I hope they're successful in their Kickstarter campaign. But, no offense, I think I'll stick to my cargo shorts.  Guys, would you wear a skirt like this?
