Are you watching the latest season of American Idol? My wife and I got sucked in again-- especially since one of the audition sites was here in Minnesota last summer. And, last night, two of our home-state contestants moved on through the Hollywood group rounds into the all-important solo rounds, which continue Thursday night. So just who made it through?

Minneapolis singer Mark Andrew (who was an early-round contestant on a previous season of 'The Voice') survived this round, after his group sang the Beatles’ “With a Little Help From My Friends.” Meanwhile, Shannon Berthiaume, the 17-year-old from St. Paul, also moved on, thanks to some quick thinking from her fellow group member during their song, “Somebody to Love” by Queen. Check out the video...
