Forget the supposed holiday hoo-ha over those red Starbucks cups, Minnesota's own Target is the latest corporation to feel the ire of disgruntled holiday shoppers, thanks to a special Christmas-themed sweater the retailer is selling.

The particular sweater in question says, 'OCD - Obsessive Christmas Disorder' on it, and is being marketed as part of Target's line of over-the-top holiday garments that one might wear to a one of those ugly Christmas sweater parties.

But, because it seems that someone, somewhere is offended by just about everything these days, some shoppers aren't happy about the phrase on the sweater, and, of course, have posted their disapproval on social media. According to this TIME magazine story, those who disagree with the sweater feel that "making light of obsessive compulsive disorder—which affects about 2.2 million American adults, according to the National Institute of Mental Health—they say, is not cute or funny," the story says.

For its part, the story also says Target released a statement saying, "We never want to disappoint our guests and we apologize for any discomfort. We currently do not have plans to remove this sweater.” The story also notes that there are also many shoppers, including some who say they suffer from OCD, who agree with Target and don't mind the sweater at all, saying they don't believe it makes light of their condition.

Here's what I think: Lighten up, Francis! It's a just a phrase on a sweater that's designed to be over-the-top and garish, for crying out loud. If it's making light of anybody, it seems to me the sweater's play on words seemed more designed to make fun of those people who REALLY get into Christmas more so than those who suffer from OCD.  What do you think?
