Monday Storm Damage At Our Place In NW Rochester

Mother Nature sure can unleash a fury at times. And, thanks to Monday's round of storms that rolled through southeast Minnesota, check out this storm damage that occurred on our deck!

Thankfully, no one was injured-- and I think we'll be able to rebuild. If it's covered by our homeowner's insurance, that is. (Or maybe a Go-Fund-Me site, as my wife suggested.)

In all seriousness, I understand that forecasting severe weather is a challenge-- and that it's better to be safe than sorry, which is why all those warnings, updates, and tweets were issued ahead of time. I also understand that in Monday's storms, there were areas of Minnesota and Iowa that did sustain damage-- and I'm certainly not making light of those who received the brunt of the storm's wrath.

We were just lucky that, despite all the warnings, updates and who knows what else, our little neck of the woods was spared this time, and no damage (well, aside from the one plant...) was done during Monday's storms. I'm well aware, though, that I could be whistling a much different tune next time!
