Does this happen to you? I'm not sure if it's all the multi-tasking we all do these days or the fact that I'm not exactly a spring chicken anymore, but I keep finding myself being more and more absent-minded.

Whether it's sometimes forgetting why I entered a room, to simply setting my phone down someplace and then not being able to find it again, there seem to be many more instances of me not really paying much attention to what's going on around me these days.

Perhaps it's because some of these chores we do everyday are so repetitive and mundane, it's tough to remember anything noteworthy about them. Take, for example, those R's on the calendar in the picture to the left. Seeing that our garbage hauler picks up our recycling every other week, I was going through the 2015 calendar that hangs in our garage and writing an R on the Thursdays we should set our recycling out.

Except that here in April, the first Thursday our recycling was picked up happened to be on the 2nd. So what did I continue to write on the following two Thursdays in April? Not an R, for recycling, but instead I wrote down a 2 on both the 16th and the 30th. Sheesh. Because everyone knows a the number 2 is shorthand for setting out the recycling, right? Now, if I could only figure out where my phone is...
