If your commute takes you east along Second Street southwest in downtown Rochester, get ready to see more orange construction barrels.

Actually, you might have noticed that those barrels are already in place between 6th Avenue SW and 9th Avenue SW, restricting traffic to a single lane as you head east toward Mayo Clinic and Broadway. The far right lane is closed right now, and according to a release from the Rochester Public Works Department, it'll most likely continue to be closed until next Monday, November 7th.

The release says that you should plan on extra time, as delays can be expected as "equipment moves around the work zone and concrete is delivered."

It further explains that repairs took place Tuesday, November 1st, and that the lane will remain closed until the concrete is strong enough for traffic to drive on it again-- hopefully, by next Monday. (Though, it might open earlier, if it's ready, the release noted.)

I drive along that stretch of Second Street on my way into the Quick Country 96.5 studios, and have noticed quite a dip in the street in the far right lane-- which is what I'm guessing they're fixing.

I'm lucky, though, in that there's not much traffic when I'm on that stretch of road at just before 4 a.m. each morning!
