Summer used to be the time when most TV shows were airing repeats, meaning there just wasn't a whole lot of TV worth watching. Now, though, there are a whole set of programs who air new episodes only during the summer. Like this one, which has become one of our favorite summer shows.

Yes, American Ninja Warrior has become one of our staple shows of the summer. While the show's already in its 7th season, my wife and I have only been watching it now for a couple of years. I'm not sure how we first discovered it, but it IS kind of fun to watch. It's an athletic competition that features qualifying rounds in various cities. Competitors, both men and women, attempt to complete an incredibly difficult obstacle course, which changes from week to week. Those who do complete the course each week move (which isn't all that many-- because it's that difficult!), move on to the finals at Mt. Mt. Midoriyama.

It airs Monday nights throughout the summer on NBC. If you haven't seen it yet, here's a look at last week's episode...
