Last weekend was one of those rare weekends where I didn't have anything specifically scheduled-- no plans on the docket. So what did I do? Here's how I spent my time:

A weekend with nothing scheduled-- no plans with friends, no work events, etc-- is rare. And, seeing as my wife was out of town on a Girls Weekend with her sisters in Madison, WI, it was just me and the cats holding down the fort.

So what did I do? Well, to quote the Peter Gibbons, lead character in the movie 'Office Space,' "I did absolutely nothing. And it was everything that I thought it could be."

Well, I guess I did do a few things. I started the weekend out with our traditional Friday martini-- only this time it was just Finn and me. Seeing as it was pretty chilly Friday, I also got our fireplace ready for the fall and winter season. Seeing as it's a gas fireplace, that really only means lighting the pilot light and firing it up, but it technically was still the first fire of the season.

Also Friday, I started binge-watching the FX series, 'The People v OJ Simpson' and made it through all but the final two episodes. That also took up most of my Saturday, although I did run a few errands and also took advantage of the beautiful fall day to get in a 3.5 mile hike.

I did another 3.5 mile hike Sunday morning, did our weekly grocery shopping, watched a few more 'People v OJ' episodes and finally wound things down by watching my team, the Packers, take on the Giants on Sunday Night Football. Check it out:
