How was your weekend? I had a pretty good one, myself-- and not just because the Packers won. Here's how I spent my time..

Unlike last weekend, when I headed back to my hometown of Wausau over in central Wisconsin, this weekend, there was no traveling on the docket. So, my wife and I kicked things off Friday afternoon with our own happy hour-- a few martinis in front of the fire.

On Saturday, some friends from St. Paul joined us and we did a quick wine tasting at Post Town Winery and then tried one of Rochester's newest restaurants-- Porch (in the old El Loro building on 4th Street SE). And it's fantastic! I had the beef brisket, which had an amazing, smoky flavor. The Pickle Back shots are pretty good, too. And try the Justin's Cowboy Potatoes, too-- you'll thank me later.

Seeing as the weather was actually pretty nice, we got in a quick walk Sunday before heading to another new place-- The Freight Yard-- to watch the Packers/Cowboys game. (Which was quite the nail-biter-- hoo boy! The reason my Packers won? My lucky Packer socks. Seriously. Check the pictures!)
