Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - Rochester police had a bizarre case to deal with Thursday afternoon.

A business in the 2400 block of North Broadway called police around 2:30 to report a man had walked into the building, began yelling and then left. A short while later, a homeowner called from the 2400 block of Riverview Heights Northeast to report a man without a shirt was urinating in the middle of the street.

When officers arrived, they saw the man completely naked but before they could apprehend him, he ran into a house. An elderly man and his wife were inside and told the officers the man had gone into a bathroom. The man refused to come out and turned on the shower. Officers then went in and after wrapping him in a blanket, put him in an ambulance and he was taken to St. Mary’s for a mental evaluation.

Police aren’t sure if the 26 year old Oronoco man was on drugs or suffering from mental illness.
