New Law Takes Affect Today – Attention Dog Owners

It's the start of a new month, APRIL 1, and there are new laws that take affect today. One involves your pets. Starting today, all animal owners will be taxed 1 dollar PER POUND of animal. This includes cats, too.

The reason the new tax is enabled is because of the environmental waste by-products of your pet.

"Animal waste is a serious problem that affects all of our lakes and streams here in Minnesota", said environmentalist Bob Frapples, of the DAWC. This additional tax revenue will make a cleaner Minnesota.
