There have been several movies and TV show set in Minnesota over the years, but the latest major movie to be filmed entirely here in our state is set to open this weekend.

That's right, the new movie 'Wilson,' starring Woody Harrelson, is set to open this weekend. And, it was shot entirely on-location here in the Land of 10,000 Lakes.

Various locations in the Twin Cities appear in the film. This Go-MN story says that you'll be able to recognize several Minnesota settings, like the Mall of America, Lake Minnetonka, Como Zoo, Lake Street in Minneapolis and more.

The crew and cast, including Harrelson, Laura Dern, Judy Greer and Cheryl Hines, spent six weeks here in Minnesota back in the summer of 2015 shooting the movie. The story also says the movie put over a hundred Minnesotans to work, too-- both behind the scenes and a few that even appear on-screen.

'Wilson' premiered earlier this week in the Twin Cities, and has its national release today. (It doesn't look like it's playing here in Rochester yet, so if you want to see it, you'll probably have to head to up to the Cities. But I'm hoping it eventually plays here-- it looks pretty funny!)
