Now here's some great news, and it's no joke, either: Another new restaurant is set to open soon in downtown Rochester-- and this one brews its own beer, too!

There were plenty of recent stories about Rochester restaurants closing-- from Michaels to the Green Mill, and from O'Neil's Pizza Pub to the Downtown Kitchen. But now, hot on the heels of the new Newt's-South opening, along with the new Crooked Pint getting ready to open in the former site of the Green Mill later this month, here's more good news.

Grand Rounds Brew Pub in downtown Rochester (where Sonte's used to be), has announced it will open to the public on April 15th. According to a Post-Bulletin story:

"Grand Rounds Brew Pub will open its door to the community on Wednesday, April 15 at 11 am.  Grand Rounds, located at 4 Third Street SW, is the first brew pub and restaurant to open in Rochester in 20 years. Grand Rounds will be open from 11 am to 11 pm, Monday through Saturday. The pub will also be open for brunch on Sundays from 10:30 am to 2:30 pm."

The story also says the new brew pub will begin accepting reservations on April 9th. I'm really looking forward to trying the four new beers they're brewing in house (a coconut stout, a session ale, a Scottish IPA, and a Minnesota Kolsch) and trying their new menu, too!
