If you've been following the work being done on the former site of El Loro Mexican Restaurant along 4th Street in southeast Rochester, then you know the building is being transformed into to not just one, but TWO new restaurants: Porch and Cellar.

The Porch part is the restaurant located on the street level, and is set to open soon-- like next week. The day after Christmas Day, in fact, December 26th, to be precise.

According to a post on the Porch and Cellar website, the new restaurant will feature "Urban Farm Fare in the heart of downtown Rochester, with proper fried chicken & fine smoked meats, plus farm inspired sides and great entree plates," the site says.

Cellar Craft Cocktails and Plates, which will be located below Porch, is set to open in February of 2017, the site says.

The building in which both new restaurants are located was once home to Rochester's Chicago Great Western Railroad Company Depot, and was built around 115 years ago!
