Yes, everybody's favorite canned meat company is 125 years old. Hormel Foods, just located just down the road in Austin, first opened back in 1891. And to help mark its anniversary, fans from around the world and here in Minnesota can celebrate with a visit to the SPAM museum, now open in its new location on 3rd Avenue NE.

According to BringMeTheNews, the new museum is about the same size as the previous one at the Hormel Headquarters, but features many new exhibits and activities. "An inside playground, called 'Kids Can! Play,' interactive components such as touch screens, and a new exhibit called the 'World Market' (featuring spam recipes from other countries), are just a handful of the new attractions. Old exhibits, like the Supporting our Troops veterans exhibit and Spam’s role in WWII, will still be included," the story said.

The story also said a Hormel community celebration is planned for July, with an appearance by The Band Perry.
