A new store opening at Apache Mall isn't necessarily news, but it might be when this new story is only the second Minnesota location outside the Twin Cities.

Yes, the Swedish affordable fashion store, H&M, opened its doors at Apache Mall in southwest Rochester on Thursday. According to this KTTC-TV story, the Rochester location is only the second H&M location here in Minnesota outside the Twin Cities. (The other out state location is in St. Cloud.)

According to the H&M website, the store first opened way back in 1947 in Västerås, Sweden, selling women’s clothing. It eventually expanded to London and other parts of Europe and opened its first store here in the U.S. in New York in 2000.

So, what's the store like? The H&M site says "Today the H&M Group offers fashion for everyone under the brands of H&M, COS, Monki, Weekday, Cheap Monday and & Other Stories, as well as fashion for the home at H&M Home."

H&M recently made some headlines, too, when pop singer, Adelle, mentioned how her credit card was recently declined while she was shopping at an H&M in San Jose, CA. According to People.com, "I went to H&M and my card got declined. Oh my days, pretty embarrassing. Nobody knew it was me, but I was mortified," Adele said in the story.

Seeing as I have a little Swedish blood in me, I'll have to head over and check it out. And, if they sell that lingonberry jam (the always-popular SYLT LINGON) that Ikea does, it'll be even better!
