In about two months, Olmsted Medical Center is scheduled to take possession of its Women’s Health Pavilion that is being built on the west side of its 4th street hospital. Work began last July.

The $25 million expansion will add 85,000 square feet to the hospital, essentially doubling its current size. One of the main features of the new two story addition will be private birthing rooms on the second floor.

OMC says the expansion will help it meet the growing healthcare needs of women in southeastern Minnesota. Women make up the highest percentage of OMC patients.

OMC is planning a public opening of the center in early October.
