Oronoco, MN (KROC AM News) - An ongoing dispute between neighbors in Oronoco over their property line turned ugly Monday and left one man in jail and another in the hospital.

Olmsted County Sheriff’s Office Capt Scott Behrns says deputies were called to a residence Monday evening to check on a reported assault. They learned 56-year-old Roger Hareldson and his 81-year-old neighbor got into an argument over mowing grass along their property lines.

Behrns says Hareldson told deputies the neighbor either slapped, punched or pushed him and he responded by hitting the older man and knocked him to the ground. Behrns says Hareldson continued punching the older man until he had a hard time breathing.

The man was taken to St. Marys Hospital where he was treated for facial fractures and a broken nose. Behrns says Hareldson was arrested Tuesday. He was formally charged Wednesday with two assault charges.
