Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - A Rochester man is scheduled to be sentenced later this month for creating a scene at the Rochester Public Library in July.

26-year-old Robert Ritchie entered into a plea agreement Wednesday that had him plead guilty to a misdemeanor assault charge. The original criminal complaint also included a felony assault charge stemming from his actions on the evening of July 21st when a patron at the library told an employee that Ritchie was watching pornography on a computer and fondling himself.

Police say he threw a computer keyboard at a library employee and ran out of the building after he was asked to leave. He was also accused of an altercation with another library employee who tried to prevent Ritchie from driving out of the library parking ramp. That employee was struck by Ritchie’s vehicle and was punched in the head when he attempted to grab the man’s car keys.

His sentencing hearing has been scheduled on September 24th.
