Police Arrest Naked Burglary Suspect

Rochester police arrested a 19-year-old man on burglary and theft charges Tuesday afternoon after officers responded to reports of a suspicious person at the 5th on 5th Apartments.

A spokesman says the officers discovered door at the main entrance to the apartment building in the 500 block of 5th street southwest had been damaged and then found a door to one of the apartment units had been forced open by someone using a fire extinguisher. The officers went inside the residence to investigate and came upon a naked Terrence Burkhalter Jr. just as he was getting out of the shower.

The police report says Burkhalter tried to claim it was his girlfriend’s apartment and he had to break in because he didn’t have the key, but it didn’t take long to determine that was not the case.
