Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - Local authorities are looking for a man who is suspected of being involved in at least three burglaries in the Byron area.  

The Olmsted County Sheriff’s Department says the three incidents happened Friday.

The first was reported by a 19 year old female who was in her home in the 600 block of 2nd Ave NW in Byron around 10 a.m. when she heard the door open followed by footsteps.The intruder left without taking anything.

The same man is suspected of taking a small amount of items from a storage shed at a residence on County Road 104 a few miles east of Byron.

He is also suspected of breaking into a home located in the 5800 block of County Road 103 near Oxbow Park. The homeowner reported three guns, a safe and some other items were taken.

The suspect became known to authorities when the car he was driving was stopped for a violation Friday night by a state trooper on South Broadway in Rochester. The 25 year old area man driving the car fled but a passenger stayed behind and cooperated with police. The stolen safe and two of the guns that were missing were found in the vehicle.
