The Minnesota Department of Transportation is advising motorists that traffic will be affected by some projects in the Rochester area this week.

Weather permitting, crews will begin painting the Highway 14 bridge over Highway 52 near Apache Mall on Monday. MNDOT says there will be lane closures on Highway 52 and off ramp from Highway 52 to eastbound Highway 14 will be closed for about two-weeks.

Work is also scheduled to begin Monday evening on the diamond grinding of the concrete pavement on 55th street northwest from the West Frontage Road to the East Frontage Road of Highway 52. The grinding will smooth out the rehabilitating pavement on both sides of the 55th street bridge. The work will be done from 6 p.m. until 6 a.m. every night through Saturday morning.

The entire 55th street bridge project is scheduled to be completed at the end of the month.
