Reports have surfaced that the Minnesota Twins plan to hire 37-year-old Rocco Baldelli to be their next Manager and replace the fired Paul Molitor.

News broke early this morning according to the Star Tribune that the Minnesota Twins will hire the former first-round pick and major league outfielder. Baldelli was drafted in 2000 by the Rays but was forced to retire in 2010. He has been in the Tampa Bay Ray's front office since 2014 and was their first base coach since 2015.

Baldelli would be the first Twins manager to be hired from another organization since 1984 when Ray Miller was given the keys. After Miller, it was Tom Kelly, who worked as a coach under Miller during the 1986 season, Ron Garden hire coached under Kelly and Molitor worked for the Twins since 2005 until becoming the manager in 2014.

The 37-year-old Baldelli would be the youngest manager in Major League Baseball if hired by the Twins. The hope is that Baldelli will come in with a completely fresh perspective to the Twins, especially coming from an organization that surprised many people going 90-72 last year.

The Twins are expected to officially make the announcement today.
