St. Paul, MN (KROC-AM News) - The most recent update from the state shows close to 185,000 Minnesotans have received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine.

Over 35,000 have been administered a second dose through the state's mass vaccination program. As of Friday, nearly 17,500 people in Olmsted County, or almost 11.5 percent of the county's population had been given at least one dose of the vaccine and about 2500 have received both doses. The Minnesota Department of Health says over 407,000 doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been shipped to Minnesota providers and just under 42-percent of those doses have been administered.

The state health department today reported another 40 coronavirus-related deaths in Minnesota that included deaths involving elderly residents of Mower and Goodhue Counties. 1364 new COVID-19 cases were reported statewide with 53 new infections reported in Olmsted County. A bit over 27,000 tests were completed on Saturday for a daily testing positivity rate of about 5 percent.
