Rochester Experienced One of the Coolest Augusts on Record

According to preliminary information from the National Weather Service, the average daily temperature at the Rochester airport during August was 64.8 degrees. That’s more than 4 degrees below average and cool enough to rank the month as the 6th coolest August on record.
During the month, 25 days recorded a below normal daily temperature. The warmest temperature was 83 and the coolest was 49.
Just over 4 inches of rain fell at the airport during the month, which was a third of an inch below normal.
Warmer weather is expected for the Labor Day weekend but cooler air is forecast for next week.
