Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - Rochester firefighters were called out Monday night to deal with a garage fire.

The detached garage at 2211 1st Ave SW was fully engulfed when they arrived around 10:45 PM. The flames spread to the house but they were contained before getting inside.

RFD says all occupants and pets were accounted for.

There was heavy fire damage to the entire garage and back side of the house. Three cars inside the garage were destroyed, The preliminary damage estimate was put at $150,000. The cause is under investigation.

RFD says crews remained on the scene overnight to deal with any rekindle. The occupants were forced to spend the night elsewhere.
