Rochester Gym Offering Free Women’s Self Defense Class Today!

Sexual violence has fallen by half in the past 20 years, and to keep that trend going, a local gym is offering a FREE self defense class for women! Here are the details.

Fox 47 interviewed Head Instructor and Owner of Mario Roberto Jiu-Jitsu Academy. He said, "Awareness is our number one concern here because if you're aware you can snap out of certain situations that might be potentially dangerous. Prevention of the crime is the number one thing we're going to focus on."

They will be teaching ladies Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu today, "It's not a very well known martial art, and we do believe there is a need to get the word out there and increase the awareness of potential sexual predation and domestic violence."

The free Female Self-Defense Seminar is TODAY 10am-12pm at Mario Roberto Jiu-Jitsu Academy in Rochester. It is open to all women ages 13 and older.
