Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - A Rochester man required surgery after he was attacked in his home by his own dog over the weekend.

Rochester police responded to a home in the 2000 block of 14th street northwest around 11:15 Saturday night and found a 36-year-old man with dog bite wounds to his hands and arms. He told police his pit bull charged at him and repeatedly bit him when he entered the house. His wife also suffered minor wounds when she unsuccessfully attempted to pull the dog off her husband.

The pit bull, which is been quarantined for the time-being, broke off the attack on its own after about 5 minutes.
