Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - Four teenagers were arrested Monday night shortly after an intended robbery victim resisted, even though he was threatened by a knife.

Police say a 40-year-old man was walking home with his three children, ages 6, 9 and 11, when he was confronted by the teens.

The man’s two oldest children ran a short distance away and called police. Police say the man was able to get his youngest child into his home and grabbed a football helmet that he used to protect himself against the teenager who was slashing at him with a knife. The man was cut on one of his hands but kept resisting until the teens ran off. Officers located the teens a few blocks away and took them into custody. Two are 16, one is 17 and the other suspect is 15 years old.

The incident happened around 11:30 in the 1000 block of 3rd Avenue SE.
