For the past few weeks, we've been talking about our upcoming Kidabaloo event and, specifically, that Brec Bassinger, who plays Bella in the new Nickelodeon TV series, 'Bella and the Bulldogs', will be in town for it. Well, it turns out that one of the show's writers actually grew up right here in Rochester!

Peter Dirksen graduated from Rochester's own John Marshall High School in the early-1990s before heading to the University of Iowa for college. While in college, he realized his passion for writing and eventually worked his way to Hollywood where he started writing for various television sitcoms.

Today, Dirksen is working on the writing team for 'Bella and the Bulldogs'. In this recent interview, he gave us an opportunity to find out more about the show, the young actress who plays its lead character and what life is like as a writer in Hollywood. Along the way, Dirksen also shared three things he still misses about Rochester!

Don't miss Brec Bassinger at our Kidabaloo event on Saturday. She'll be there from 1-4 pm to meet you and sign autographs! And be sure to catch 'Bella and the Bulldogs' Saturday nights on Nickelodeon or online at Nickelodeon's website.
