Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - A couple hundred people turned out for a surprise “welcome home” event at the Rochester Airport Saturday night.

Longtime Army Reservist Jeremy Delaney of Rochester returned from a deployment to Iraq, the 4th of his 20 year career.

Rochester veteran and businessman Terry Throndson helped organize the event with the help of Delaney’s wife and family and others. Throndson says members of the Patriot Guard Riders, several neighbors and friends were there along with Rochester Mayor Brede and councilmembers Staver and Bilderback.

After a reception at the airport, Delaney and his family were given an escort home by members of the Rochester Police Dept, Rochester Fire Dept, Olmsted County Sheriff’s Office and Gold Cross Ambulance.

Delaney has been a longtime employee of Rochester City Lines and has three years left to serve in the Army.
