Afternoons With Val was filled with calls on this topic from the other day. Thank you guys for your thoughts!

I have to admit, my personal preference is to say Merry Christmas. Sometimes I get so excited saying it that it doesn't come out clearly! haha! This is my preference not necessarily because of the religious aspect (I believe that's a personal conversation to be had with oneself), but from a sincerity standpoint. Simply put, I just feel like a "Merry Christmas" wish is a little more sincere. There really is a lot of magic in that little word.

However, I understand the use of "Happy Holidays!" It is so hard to be sensitive to everyone's concerns and needs anymore, and I understand that using "holidays" instead of "Christmas" is a way to protect yourself from hurting someone without realizing it. No one wants to intentionally hurt someone with their words.

Here are some of your thoughts on the subject...

Wanna weigh in? Which do you prefer? "Merry Christmas" or "Happy Holidays"?
