With Father's Day this Sunday, we're shouting out all dads by spotlighting some of those great things dads have told us.

I asked on our Facebook page yesterday for the best advice your dad ever gave you.

For instance, my dad remembers his dad (my grandpa) saying, "When a job is once begun, never finish until it's done. Be the labor great or small, do it well or not at all." I love that one, not only because it rhymes (which makes it easier to remember), but because it has a great message, too.

Now, on the other hand, our producer, Raul, said his dad used to say this: "I'd rather have a bottle in front of me, than a frontal lobotomy." Just as catchy, if maybe not quite as deep.

Val, who does afternoons here on Quick Country 96.5, said her dad, Ernie, always said, "Never give up!" (Shades of Winston Churchill, there, Ernie!)

Quick Country 96.5 listener Kathy Schroeder let us know her dad said, "Measure twice....saw once."

Bobbi Jo Powers let us know her dad always says, "Work smarter, not harder!"

And Jess Zemke said advice from here dad includes, "Life's short. Eat dessert first!"

Now THAT'S some great advice. Thanks for all the wisdom, dads... and Happy Father's Day!
