Rochester’s Geographic Bee Contestant Comes up Short

Washington, DC (KROC AM News) - A Rochester home schooled student made it to the 9th round of the final competition of this year’s National Geographic Bee before he was eliminated.

This was the second year in a row Lucas Eggers made it to the final round before being bounced out. He also competed in 2014. Lucas is sponsored by STAR Homeschool Academy in Minneapolis.

This year’s bee was won by Pranay Varada of Irving, Texas, a 14-year-old at DeWitt Perry Middle School.
