Saturday Was A Perfect Day For Tubing The Cannon River

How did you spend your Saturday? We grabbed the swimsuits, coolers and sunscreen and went tubing down the Cannon River.

The bright sunshine and warm temperatures in the upper 80's made it the perfect day for hitting the water, and there were a ton of people who had the same idea we did. We'd already been tubing down the Zumbro River when we camped at Bluff Valley Campground in Zumbro Falls over the 4th of July, so we headed to our favorite tubing place: Welch Mill in beautiful, Welch, MN.; about an hour northeast of Rochester.

Thanks to the recent rain, the Cannon River was running pretty fast this year, so we met there at 11 a.m., got all our tubes and coolers situated on the river by around noon, and were back on-shore again by 3 p.m. It was a relaxing way to get out an enjoy the natural beauty here in the Land of 10,000 Lakes.
