I don't want to jump the gun too early and jinx things, but seeing as we've been enjoying pretty much an entire week of above-average, spring-like weather, I found a sure sign that spring has, indeed, sprung here in southeastern Minnesota:

Sure, the backyard might still look a little rough-- but at least there's no dog poo out there anymore!

Our backyard is now clear of a winter's worth of dog poo.

Yes, I'm not one of those really on-the-ball dog owners who go out dutifully every day during the winter to clean up what their dog has left behind in the backyard. I should, really. It'd be a lot easier than doing one massive pick-up in the spring.

But which one do I do? You guessed it. I leave it until all the snow melts and the backyard is littered with pretty much an entire winter's worth of poo. Picking up what amounted to an entire garbage bag full of dog doo-doo certainly isn't fun job I get to do every spring, but after ignoring for the winter, it's a chore I couldn't put off any longer. And, I'm proud to announce that after yesterday's second sweep of the yard (and subsequent poo pick-up), that the backyard is finally poop-free and ready for another outdoor season!

Which means, of course, we're going to get hit with another freak spring snowstorm sometime in the not-too-distant future...
