Our early spring so far in Minnesota has been great -- but it can also lead to some slick road conditions on mornings when the temperature hovers near freezing. And that can lead to some close calls on the roads if you're going too fast and not paying attention.

Check out this video from the Beltrami County Sheriff's office, that shows just how close this deputy came to being hit by an SUV as he was assisting another vehicle on the side of the road. It really highlights how even the slightest distraction when you're behind the wheel can take your attention away from the road -- with potentially dangerous consequences.

Luckily, the deputy noticed what was going on, and alerted the driver to close their door so they wouldn't be hit before he jumped out of the way. But it's another reminder that, when you see an emergency vehicle (or any vehicle) on the side of the road, to slow down, move over, and help everyone stay alive!
